This publication is a complexed analytical elaboration concerning demographic determinants as well as living conditions of the society of our voivodship. Factors conditioning standard of living of the residents were grouped in the thematic issues concerning problems relating to: demography, dwelling conditions, income and expenditure of population, widely understood economic activity, education, culture, health care and social assistance, public safety and environmental protection. Additionally data were presented in territorial cross-sections which allows tracking the changes in living conditions of the population.  
The graphical presentations in the form of charts, maps and tables featured in the publication help to analyse the phenomena and make comparisons.
The main sources of data used in publication are: survey of households budgets, labour force survey, population balances for periods between censuses as well as other cyclic surveys conducted by CSO.
